THE SAFE AND SOUND PROTOCOL (SSP) BY DR. STEPHEN PORGES.
Updated: Jul 30
I'm now a certified provider of the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), a therapeutic listening program developed by UNC Chapel Hill Dr. Stephen Porges. The SSP uses specially-designed music to help individuals find essential safety and coherence in their nervous systems, allowing for more meaningful connection to others, increased ability to settle and rest, cultivation of the inner-witness that can mindfully experience emotions without attaching or avoiding, and an overall sense of feeling safe and sound. Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Trauma, Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism and many other conditions are being positively impacted by a combined approach of SSP & Somatic Experiencing. I integrate SSP into my therapeutic practice, so if you would like to learn more please ask me!
